Martha Stewart Thinks George Clooney’s Fiancee Should Cook
People Magazine contacted celebrities to get their reaction to George Clooney’s engagement. Amidst quotes from Gravity director, Alfonso Cuarón, close friend Charlie Rose, and MSNBC host Ronan Farrow who is a friend of his new fiancée is this little nuggets from Martha Stewart.
“For Martha Stewart, who is a fan of Clooney’s films, she was happy to hear that the Hollywood heartthrob finally decided to settle down. “I thought it was about time!” Stewart, 72, told PEOPLE. “They make a great couple.” Stewart has got a recipe recommendation for the bride-to-be, too – if she ever finds time to cook. “George is a healthy eater. She should make one of our one-pot meals,” Stewart said. “It’s a new book that is coming out and everything is made in one pot like pasta and chicken … They have busy schedules, and making a one-pot meal, they can prepare healthy meals in a quick and easy way. I think that’s a meal he will enjoy.”
Martha Stewart who barely knows George Clooney was asked to comment on his engagement and not only did she provide a quote but also used it to promote her new one-pot meal cookbook. This, my friends, is why she is a mogul.
You know what this reminds me of? It’s like when the hosts of the entertainment shows like Access Hollywood and Entertainment Tonight ask celebrities on red carpets about matters that have absolutely nothing to do with them or the event they are attending.
“Excuse me, Halle Berry, so glad to see you tonight at the Kid’s Choice Awards. Can you tell us your thoughts on whether you believe Courtney Love killed Kurt Cobain.”
“Britney Spears, you must be thrilled to be presenting an award at tonight’s Grammy Awards. Chad Michael Murray from One Tree Hill is recovering at home from pneumonia. Want to send him good wishes?”
“Selena Gomez, wonderful to see you tonight at the American Latino Media Arts Awards. Do you have anything you want to say to the women who were held captive in Ohio for all those years?”
Then you turn to the person sitting next to you on the couch and they look just as confused as you are.
